Grant Genie was founded in 2023 by the Adam Boddison and Ian Boddison as On Radar. Despite the unusual surname, we don't think the dynamic duo at the helm of Grant Genie are related.
There is lots of funding available to UK charities but much of the money doesn't reach where it is needed most. This is frustrating for both the charities and for the grant makers.
At Grant Genie we are on a mission to help charities find funding and operate efficiently.
We do this by harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help charities quickly go from a project idea to a fully formed grant application.
Coventry, UK – 10th September 2025 – With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to squeeze household budgets, UK charities are under increasing pressure. Donations are falling, demand for services is rising, and many organisations risk being unable to meet the needs of their communities. Yet billions of pounds in grant funding go unclaimed every year.
Grant Genie, an AI-driven funding platform, is helping charities bridge the gap. By intelligently matching organisations with relevant funding opportunities and simplifying the grant application process, Grant Genie ensures that even small, resource-stretched charities can compete for vital funding.
“Charities are doing more with less, and the current economic climate has made fundraising harder than ever,” said Ian Boddison, Technical Director at Grant Genie. “The reality is that traditional donations aren’t enough to sustain services. Our mission is to make sure no charity misses out on the funding that’s already available to them.”
Since launching over two years ago, Grant Genie has supported dozens of UK charities, providing access to tailored grant opportunities and AI-assisted application tools. The platform not only identifies suitable grants but also helps draft compelling applications, saving charities valuable time and resources.
“As the pressure mounts on the third sector, we want to ensure every charity has the tools to survive and thrive,” added Ian. “Grant Genie exists to level the playing field.”
